Congratulations to Scotland’s Under 25 teams on winning both the Women’s and Combined series at the 2023 Junior Internationals.
In their first game of the day, our Women’s team produced a 15-shot victory against hosts Wales. The Men’s team unfortunately couldn’t emulate this result and lost out 28-40 to Wales, who eventually went on to win the Men’s series.
To conclude the series, both teams faced Ireland with all three trophies still in the balance. Both the Men’s and Women’s sides required victories and results to go in their favour if they were to be successful. Both Scottish teams got the better of their respective Irish opponents in comfortable fashion. In the Women’s series there was final end drama between England and Wales which resulted in a draw to see Scotland be crowned champions.
Well done to all the players, coaches and support staff on an excellent weekend and on winning two of the three events on offer.

Northfield Youth Championships ( 28-29 July )

There were strong performances from our D24 youths over the last couple of days but they unfortunately missed out on progression out of the sections.
They all gave of their best and did their clubs and themselves proud.
Leah McCloy, Cardonald, finished second in her Singles section which was topped by the eventual winner.
The Pair of Zak Harte and Sophie McShane, Crookston, also achieved second spot but took it right to the wire with their section result coming down to the last couple of bowls thrown and narrowly missing out.
The Triple from Cardonald of Logan Dempster, Ruby Nelson and Kayden Young fought out a number of close games but results didn’t go their way.
Their admirable efforts paid off with a win in their fourth game.
All the D24 kids can look forward to a bright future as their talent is their for all to see.
